Disney Fashion

While I was doing some fashion photographers' research I came across this Disney campaign photographed by non other than Annie Leibovitz.
Not only do I love her work, but I also love disney! (so this was the perfect combination!) And guess who else was a part of this project? scarlett johanssen, whoopie goldberg, jessica biel, roger federer, gisele bundchen, tina fay, just to name a few...

Disney Fantasea Julianne Moore as The Little Mermaid Ariel

The pictures are from the 2007-08 Disney Dream Portrait Series.
Here's what USA today said about the shoot:
The famed photographer's reputation, combined with the allure of Disney, has sent a pop princess to Wonderland, a soccer stud to slay a dragon and an acclaimed actress scurrying slipperless down a staircase.
What do you think? Which one is your favorite?
I'm more of a classic gal, and I think the first one, the one of (Scarlett as) Cinderella is the best one (I adore how the castle appears in the background, and the dress-skirt- is just gorgeous). I don't know, they're all so cute!

best spice girl looks

who didn't love the beautiful and spicy SPICE GIRLS?
I know I did. I wanted to grow up and be one of them!

I recently came across an article that described the Spice Girls costumes:

The Spice Girls' lavish tour costumes have been created by world-famous designer Roberto Cavalli. The outfits that they wear on stage highlight the strong, glamorous image that characterises the band, while Roberto has interpreted the personality of each Spice Girl in his unmistakable signature style.

Spice Girls then:

Don't we all just love the Spice Girls outfits?
CHECK OUT THOSE SHOES! And I love Geri's union jack dress.
I love how they're always constant to their looks: Geri is always wearing flags, Scary's always got leopard/animal prints, Sporty wears gym clothes, Baby cute little dresses and Posh leather/tight black dresses.

Very consistent.

the september issue

I just finished watching the september issue and I absolutely loved it!
if you haven't seen it yet I totally recommend it! a definite MUST.
why is the 'september' issue so important?
even if you're not that interested in fashion you MUST see this!
it really is fascinating. I adored all of the editorials they did (the color blocking one -the one with the camera guy BOB jumping- the JEAN PAUL one.) Grace Coddington is a true and utter artist. She comes up with all of this outfits, sceneries, she even dresses all of the models. UTTERLY FANTASTIC!
Here's what the nytimes said about her:
It would be simplistic to say that Grace Coddington, creative director, is the "real" reason for the success of vogue. She is truly is inspirational, nurturing, and down to earth. She is an emotional romantic whose beliefs infuse and shape in her work.

It also went on location, that is to say, they traveled all around Europe for different meetings, shoots, etc. So impressed. So amazed. (so jealous!)

I adore Vogue, and really this documentary was just great

parenthesis:
another vogue must is the TEEN VOGUE HANDBOOK!
It's like a teenagers guide to fashion, it's got some of the most influential models/designers/photographers/stylists/etc. & it also gives you tips about what you should do t o start your career.

what do you think? will you be getting/did you already get the TVH?
Did you see 'the September issue'? what did you think?

did you know?

Carla Gebhart, Tati Cotliar, and Antonella Graef.

models.com predicted that the
next "model craze" will be Argentina! Oh my gosh, that's us! ;) yay! GO ARGENTINA!
First Brazil, then came the dutchs, and now US!
it appears that supposedly Argentina will be next!
are we all happy or what?

Jimmy Choo made shoes that light up when you dance! and you can have 'em of you're willing to pay $2500.
It's a good idea, but really, how is going to pay that much? I mean I know a couple of celebrities can afford it, but high fashion should also be available to non-celebrity clients.
But, I have to say, they are pretty cool!

Would you wear them?

Alice in Wonderland argentine editorial

So you've seen the vogue version of Alice in Wonderland, (if not, click here) this is how the Argentines perceive it:

Do you like 'em? Which one is better? (I'm guessing you're gonna say Vogue.. I know, it was a lot chic-er than this one, but this one is still fun!)

celebs new hobby: raise money for others

So celebrities have reached the point where they have raised enough money for themselves so, to pass the time, they decided to start raising some $$ for others.
Kidding (scratch the sarcasm), I actually think it's very nice & refreshing to see celebrities (actresses/models/singers/etc) trying to help those in need.
and the Award of the best citizen goes to.. Naomi Campbell for doing a couple of consecutive fashion shows to help Haiti!Naomi Campbell’s Fashion For Relief™, a spectacular charity fashion show and auction to raise money for Haiti.

Second came Kate Moss, who is doing a campaign of "Sport Relief" to buy mosquito nets for Africans in risk of malaria.
She said:
"I was shocked to hear that one child dies from malaria every 30 seconds. The dress incorpororates recycled malaria nets and is absolutely gorgeous, I loved wearing it and it's a great way to raise awareness."

teen vogue: Miley Fashion

I love the Miley Cyrus fashion spread in Teen Vogue. It's a wonderful editorial, where she poses next to her beau, the gorgeous Liam Hemsworth.

I love the shirt and the pants. THE HEELS AND THE PURSE ARE JUST BEYOND COOL... utterly fantastic!

a behind the scenes image of the Teen Vogue Paris shoot.

How cool would it be to be in a fashion shoot in PARIS? I think Miley would fall under the category of young and fabulous, because really, how many seventeen year olds (eighteen?) can say that they go to shoots on location (for instance PARIS) with their boyfriends, and they get to keep some of the clothes.

superhero fashion

I recently found this book (of superhero fashion). I bought it two years ago at the MET when I went to the Superhero Exhibition.
It's a pretty interesting book because it shows pictures of all the superheros EVER and their fashion

very pop art-ish

The US swimming team, (inspired by superheros - think of Mystique in X Men)
(intense gold fashion)
