The adorable Elle Fanning

The beautiful and corky Elle Fanning, was chosen by Miss Vogue Australia to be the cover lady for their first issue ever.

Ever since I've started reading The Vogue Factor, by the former Australian Vogue editor in chief: Kirstie Clements, I've been a huge fan of the Australian Vogue-scene. Now, the Aussie publication is following on the British Vogue footsteps, and has just launched a Miss Vogue publication.

The cute cover is a beautiful mixture of youthful sun kissed joy and Vogue allure
I love the star-filled Vogue font, and it goes perfectly with the issue and publication.

What do you think?

Another picture from the Miss Vogue editorial.

Alice Cavanagh, the editor of Miss Vogue, said to NEWS AU that when choosing a cover girl she asked herself "Who is Miss Vogue?"
"There were some obvious answers and out cover girl, the infectiously giddy Elle Fanning, was definitely one of them. I fell in love with this genuine and uniquely stylish young person when I interviewed her in LA... She is even morlikable - if that is possible- in person"

The young fashionista, and longtime muse of Rodarte, was chosen by the brand to take over the morning instagram pictures.

What do you think of the Miss Vogue cover? Are you a fan of the corky and beautiful Elle Fanning?

The Nasty Gal Empire

Sophia Amoruso started Nasty Gal in 2006 as an online store on ebay called "Nasty Gal Vintage."

The California native said in an interview to the LA Times that the name Nasty Gal was inspired by the legendary Bette Davis. Amoruso started by exploring and scouring different thrift shops all along the California coast, and one of her most successful finds include a vintage Chanel Jacket she acquired for $8 and then sold for $1050!

By 2008, Nasty Gal evolved from being a mere ebay vintage shop, to having its own website- and a Berkeley based warehouse with employees.

Amoruso's rapidly-growing Nasty Gal empire now has its own original collection, more than 150 employees and its own biannual publication: Super Nasty.

Super Nasty, Nasty Gal's chic magazine, has some talented collaborators including: David Black, Delaney Allen, and even the legendary Terry Richardson collaborated on the first issue.

And finally, Sophia Amoruso spoke to about her future venture: writing a book, below she shares some words of wisdom on how one doesn't have to focus on being someone else:

"I'm working on a book, and there's a chapter on role models, called "Kill your Idols," (...) If I were starting up, it would keep me down. So I just stare straight ahead and do my best every day. The whole celebrity worship thing, it's not me... I want everyone to be her own hero."

I find Nasty Gal's story incredibly inspiring. Sophia Amoruso is a truly successful and authentic businesswoman and fashionista.

Book Club: The Vogue Factor

I just started reading The Vogue Factor written by the former editor at large of Vogue Australia and Vogue Singapore: Kirstie Clements. Clements gives her readers an inside glimpse of the fashion world throughout the eighties and nineties. She gives her take on controversial issues like model's extremely waif figures, and sharing personal anecdotes of location shoots all over the world and her experience in high fashion events like Paris fashion week or meeting the legendary Estee Lauder.

The Aussie fashionista also writes about her entire Vogue career: she started as a mere front desk receptionist, and narrates how she moved up the Vogue ladder..

Above you can see the fabulous Kirstie Clements and her book.

What are your favorite fashion books? I love reading about successful and industry savvy women. What do you think?

Thank you for reading!

PS: I am so happy to say the post I wrote on "I want to Be a Coppola" was linked by The Guardian's website. Click here if you want to take a look at it! :)

The fashionable VMAs

The always fabulous brit fashionista, Rita Ora, looked fabulous in a light blue Alex Vauthier dress. Although I am not a huge fan of the dress, I think the 22 year-old Material Girl star pulls it off and rounds the look with her cute new hair-do.

Taylor Swift rocked a true old Hollywood look for the New York event. She wore a midnight blue Herve Leger '20s inspired gown with Lorraine Shwartz jewelry and a matching retro hairstyle.

Miley Cyrus in a gorgeous vintage Dolce and Gabanna ensemble and Gisuseppe Zanotti shoes.
I don't particularly like this look, but I always appreciate when stars aren't afraid to take risks. What do you think of Miley's always fashion forward style?

Selena Gomez is definitely my newest style crush. She can't stop stunning everyone with her newly transformed style. The former Disney star wore an extravagant Atelier Versace dress with Lorraine Shwartz jewels.

Holland Rhoden wore a beautiful Naeem Khan  dress, although I would've preferred for the dress to be a full skirt (sans pants) the Teen Wolf star looks very chic. I love the fabric and the detailed top, what do you think?

Shailene Woodley wore a casual-and-chic Pucci outfit to the awards. I am always a huge fan of crop tops, and Shailene definitely pulls off the crop top look.

Gold Madness
Sarah Hyland in a strapless gold and red dress, Zoey Deutch in an adorable Jonathan Simhkai crop top and skirt. Next, the fabulous model Coco Rocha wore an all black outfit with a leather jacket decked in golden embroideries. And lastly, the singer Iggy Azalela wore a sheer gold dress.

The simple Gowns
The Glee actress, Naya Rivera, wore a long-sleeved black dress. Crystal Reed stunned in a strapless red  Zac Posen gown. One of my favorite style stars of the moment: Allison Williams, wore a beautiful Valentino dress.

What do you think of the fashionistas at the VMAs? I have to say I love Taylor Swift's Herve Leger twenties gown, so beautiful and classic. Although, Naya Rivera's simple black cut-out dress is beautiful as well.
Which are your favorite VMA looks?

the new edgy style queen

Lily Collins, an American actress that had her breakout role in the 2010 movie: The Blind Side, and the daughter of famous singer Phil Collins. She has been in everyone's style radar ever since.
Her style mostly consists of crop tops and tube skirts, and modern-cut and backless dresses.

No one does crop tops like the brunette actress. Collins always has a modern-cut edgy dress.

And, always a fashionista, Lily Collins was chosen by Chanel in 2007 to wear one of the label's gown for the Debutante Ball in Paris. The event was actually featured in the reality show: The Hills.

Leather, pants, skirts and patterns. I specially love the last dress.

Backless red carpet dresses
The blue Zuhair murad (Vanity Fair '13 Oscar Party), the Houghton backless lace gown and a beautiful-bow Paule Ka.

And more colorful red carpet dresses: the red Houghton, the puffy Monique Luhllier, the golden Marchesa..
I definitely think one of my favorite outfits is the gorgeous red Houghton she wore last week.

Do you like Lily's edgy style? Are you a fan of crop tops? What do you think of her fabulous red carpet style? I love her bold and edgy fashion choices. How about you?

young Hollywood fashionistas

Hailee Steinfeld. The Miu Miu fashionista looked beautifully chic at the Teen Choice Awards in a colorful House of Holland dress.

AnnaSophia Robb, the young Carrie Bradshaw, rocks a Pucci dress for the Young Hollywood Awards.

The fashion blogger and brit actress, Ashley Madekwe, looked radiantly yellow in a Diane Von Frustenberg jumpsuit strutting around LA.

Lucy Hale looked as cute as ever in a Paper london outfit paired with turquoise heels.

Chloe Moretz in a colorful Christopher Kane dress at the Teen Choice Awards

Nina Dobrev looked red and fabulous in a grunge-yet-simple Versace Versus safety-pin dress.

Rita Ora looked like a true Brit Superstar in an orange-leopard jumpsuit.

What do you think of the different print-and-colorful young Hollywood outfits?
I love all of these fashion forward looks, from colorful jumpsuits to safety pin-adorned dresses.
What do you think?

Buenos Aires, the best kept secrets

Yesterday I was walking down Avenida Santa Fe -downtown Buenos Aires- when I walked into Buenos Aires's legendary and iconic El Ateneo bookshop/library.

El Ateneo used to be a huge theatre in the 1920s called Teatro Grand Splendid. Legendary tango singers like Carlos Gardel and Francisco Canaro performed in the "Grand Splendid," that seated 1050 people. Later, it became one of the first and only cinemas in Buenos Aires.
By the year 2000, the theatre underwent a huge renovation that involved replacing the seats for tons of bookshelves and tables, to create the ultimate beautiful place to read an buy books.
Nowadays, there is a small café where the stage is, and there's always some jazzy tune playing.

The original columns and ceilings are still part of the lovely bookshop.

What are your city's best kept secret?
El Ateneo reminds me of a Breakfast at Tiffany's scene when Holly visits the New York Public Library. Have you ever visited Buenos Aires?

the ultimate Coachella gal

Vanessa Hudgens has matured from her  Disney days, and has become one of the bohemian-hippie fashion it girls.
The hippie-boho actress is no stranger to taking fashion risks and exploring her style.

Some of her Coachella, festival-ready outfits. Different patterns, textures, crop tops and embroideries.

Classic outfits: jumpsuits, hats and maxi skirts.

I love her chic hat, that clearly compliments her  boho style. And the patterned maxi skirts are always a must in her festival wardrobe. Her fourth goth-inspired look showcases her fashion-forward style.

Party ready outfits: from crop tops and mini dresses to long gowns and jumpsuits.

What do you think? Do you like Vanessa's bohemian style?
I specially loved all of her festival outfits.
