Christina Dean is the founder of ReDress, an environmental NGO that has started "The 365 Challenge"
"The 365 Challenge is a one-year secondhand clothing challenge seeing our Founder, Christina Dean, only wearing 100% dumped, discarded or donated secondhand clothes to promote the ‘Redress it, don’t bin it’ concept."
The ReDress website, where The 365 Day Challenge is thoroughly explained. The challenge is meant to reduce the amount of clothes that are thrown away, hence the amount of clothes that enter landfills.
According to the website: "In the UK almost 10,000 garments were dumped into landfill."
All of the unique-recycled outfits are posted daily on their instagram (getredressed).
Above, Christine Dean and some of her recycled creations. I love all of these outfits, from the sheer top to the pink skirt.. What do you think?
I personally think this challenge is incredibly inspiring and a way to change the world for the better. The ReDressed website explains how a lot of clothes are not biodegradable, and when in landfills they can cause the discharge of tons of harmful gases.
Do you agree?
