model street style ✌ rocker style and faux fur

I love looking at pictures of model street style, specially when it's in one of my favorite cities
like New York or London. I find them incredibly inspiring, and every time I look at them I just get
completely hopeful that I might actually be one of those crazy fashionistas strutting around the big apple wearing a ridiculously warm (faux) fur coat.

What do you think?

Thank you for reading!

Chloe Norgaard for MINK PINK

Chloe Norgaard is a DJ and model, known for her usually crazy hair and for being the grungiest model right now. Chloe has been chosen by MINKPINK -an Australian fashion brand that is perfect for summer. I absolutely loved the whole campaign.

Firstly, Chloe was the face of an Argentine fashion brand:
Complot is an Argentine fashion brand, that has a cool, edgy style..
So of course, when Chloe -the ultimate grunge girl- appeared as the model for the latest campaign, one couldn't be that surprised..

More pictures from the campaign that included a motorcycle, a snake and Chloe's blue hair.
What do you think?

The first of the MINK pictures.
After graduating high school, Chloe had her first modeling job in Tokyo. And now, she has achieved worldwide fame: from walking for Rodarte to travelling the world...

The photoshoot took place in the amazing and beautiful Venice Beach, CA. And was shot by the California photographer: Mike Piscitelli.

Chloe posed together with the actress Daveigh Chase. They were both hippie beauties strutting around Venice Beach with colorful hair to match.

Some of MINK's latest collection: I love everything! From the bikini to the pink cover up, and the striped leggings and chemise. I love :)

What do you think of the MINK pictures?
Are you a fan of their latest collection?

Kate Moss, reminiscing about a true style icon

I thought I'd dedicate this post to the amazing and legendary Kate Moss
A model that started her career at the young age of 14, and that managed to stay relevant through out all of these years- and not only that, but she has surpassed her own battles in the public eye no less...

At 17, Kate's fame skyrocketed with the legendary Calvin Klein ads with Mark Whalberg.
She wrote on her book:
"I can still remember asking Paul Cavaco, 'Do you think I should do this Calvin contract?' And he said, 'You know what? You're so small, you might not last. It could be all over in a season! Take the money and run!' I worked at Calvin for eight years, I just didn't know if it was right for me. I thought it might stop me being able to do other things."

Probably one of my favorite friendships of all time: Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss. The fashionistas have been close friends for years, and still are.

Johnny Depp and Kate Moss. The couple that started the heroin chic style in the 1990s. Grunge, leather, black. The ultimate 90s fashion couple.

Kate also wrote on her book how hard it was to
"I used to be on my own at airports all the fucking time. It was so incredibly lonely, I was alone a lot at the beginning."

I love this shot. Kate Moss modeled for the streetwear brand Supreme last year.

Kate modeled for the St. Tropez tanning company this year. And she said:
"I have used St.Tropez since it started. Around 15 years ago, the first time I went to Ibiza, I didn't want to be the only white person on the beach so I had a St.Tropez,"

The supermodel has been on the cover of 32 Vogue Covers!!!!

John Galliano, the model's longtime friend, designed Kate's wedding dress. The dress had a vintage flair and a long veil.
And Manolo Blahnik designed a unique pair of Godichefac sandals with crystals and blue details.

The Kate Moss Book was published last year, and it's the perfect coffee table book. Filled with everything that is Kate, her personal anecdotes and tons of pictures -and some that were never even published before. click here to find it on Amazon

The supermodel's latest endeavor consists of a collection of  accessories for Carphone Warehouse, designed by Kate herself. The collection will hit the shelves July 31st, and the blonde beauty said:
"My phone's as much a part of my look as my bag or shoes, and yet there's so little choice out there"
I can't wait to see this collection..!

What do you think of Kate Moss? She is a true style icon that has managed to stay relevant through out more than 25 years. In an industry where young is always better, Kate is still one of the most sought after models today.
Are you a Kate fan? Will you be checking out her Carphone Warehouse collection?
I love the pictures of a young Kate Moss.

Thank you for reading :)

breakfast with Bevan & more fashion TV

Teen Vogue has just come out with a new web series called "Breakfast with Bevan"
The series consists of Andrew Bevan, the Teen Vogue features director, interviewing fashion personalities during breakfast.
In the first episode (below) he interviews the designer Rebecca Minkoff and model Jessica Stam.

I loved this new series because I adore candid interviews with real life fashion pros.

And, amongst the many web series Teen Vogue has just launched, my other favorite one is called Fashion at Work. The series is sort of "a day in the life" of different working fashionistas.

What do you think? Will you be watching any of these series?
I love watching them because I feel that at least a small part of me is actually seeing how the fashion industry really is (not just what we see in The Devil Wears Prada).

As always, thank you for reading! :)

Carrie Diaries: The Real Life Seventies Chick

AnnaSophia Robb is the young actrice that plays the iconic Carrie Bradshaw in the seventies, and in real life she dresses like a true life seventies chick.
I love these dresses, they're short and sweet, tight in the waist and perfectly retro.
What do you think?

I love the posters of the series!
Specially the one on the right, with the beautiful NY skyline in the back..

Just some of the many outfits AnnaSophia wears as Carrie Bradshaw around the city that never sleeps.
I love that gorgeous Carrie purse.

Carrie, the seventies chick... Crazy prints and fluffy dresses with colored heels... Just. Perfect.

Larissa Loughlin is another character in the series, the boss we all wish we had. Carrie's Interview Magazine boss is probably my favorite character -and the most stylish one at that.
Her extravagant hats, her fabulous handbags, everything she wears is absolutely and undoubtedly fantastic.

Did you watch The Carrie Diaries? Are you a fan?
What do you think of AnnaSophia's retro style?

Thank you so much for visiting!

Hope you liked La Dolce Moda :)

The Fabulous Olsens✿

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are probably the most famous twin fashionistas out there. The gorgeous twins just turned 27, and my loyal reader/fabulous sister gave me an idea to write this post on the chicest twins.

Let's reminisce a little... The Olsen twins, just like we knew them. Either from Full House, their legendary movies or their nick tv show, am I the only one that feels I grew up with them?

For this years Met Gala, the twin fashionistas opted for vintage Chanel and Dior.
Mary Kate (left) wore a Chanel Haute Couture gown and a Balmain jacket, the perfect bohemian outfit. While Ashley (right) wore a vintage orange Haute Couture Dior gown -that looked a lot like a huge orange tunic.

Long drapey dresses, their own designs, everything they wear suits their bohemian effortless chic style...

Currently, the fabulous Olsens have two fashion brands: The Row and Elizabeth and James.
In 2012 they won the CFDA Womenswear Designers of The Year for The Row.

Mary Kate and Ashley started The Row, their couture label named after Savile Row, in 2006. And one year later, in 2007, the twins started Elizabeth and James (named after their other two siblings), a brand.
A video introduction to the fantastic, chic and minimalist The Row:

I loved what they wrote on their Elizabeth and James mission statement, citing a perfect contradiction:
They perfectly complement one another in a beautiful contradiction. Elizabeth's uptown sophistication and feminine detail is paired with James' laid back, downtown edge and masculine tailoring. Individually, each would  be incomplete. Together, they are striking in perfection. For Elizabeth and James, the magic is in the mix.

Previous Elizabeth and James collections.

Some of the many Hollywood ladies that love Elizabeth and James.

The Olsen's future project is a collaboration with Sephora, they will launch an Elizabeth and James fragrance.

Influence is a book by Mary Kate and Ashley, where they compiled everything and anything that inspires and influences them. They compiled everything from personal pictures to interviews with famous fashion insiders.

Some polaroids from the book Influence with fashionistas like Karl Lagerfeld, Terry Richardson, Diane Von Frustenberg, etc..

Are you a fan of the Olsen twins? What do you think of The Row and Elizabeth and James?
I love their bohemian-laid back style, they always look super chic and fashion ready.

Thank you for reading!

Plum Sykes: writer, fashionista, muse and mother

Plum Sykes is a gorgeous british fashionista. I first heard of her when I first watched the bbc documentary Anna Wintour: Boss Woman,  she was Anna's go-to girl- and famous in the fashion industry.

Plum Sykes. A classic lady with her classic gowns. Lately she's been sticking to off-white colors with a hint of color.

Plum Sykes says that her style icons include Lauren Baccall, Amanda Harlech and Nina Ricci.

Plum Sykes has a twin sister called Lucy Sykes (seen above), who was a fashion director for Marie Claire and currently dabbles as a designer. Both twins lived in the big apple.

In 2005, Alexander McQueen designed two wedding gowns for Plum Sykes, but she later decided on the one with the really long train. The socialite and the designer were really good friends, and Plum was even said to be a muse for McQueen.

Plum Sykes debuted as a writer in 2004 with her book Bergdorf Blondes and later with the book The Debutante Divorcee. Both books made the New York Times best sellers list.
In 2011 she came out with an autobiographical book called Oxford Girl, where she wrote about her life in Oxford, where she went instead of going to her dream school: Central St. Martins to study fashion. She said:
"(Oxford) really teaches you how to think and how to argue your point. But, having said that, I wish I could have gone to St. Martins as well as I would really love to be able to design a dress. But, it would have been impossible to do both."
She partly attributes her major success as a writer, to Vogue- where, throughout the years,  she built a loyal audience:
"Working for Vogue made it much easier for me to publish a first novel as I already had a potential inbuilt audience, as well as enormous support from the magazine, the audience is very similar "

I thought I'd also include Plum's advice on writing, for all of those aspiring writers/bloggers out there..
“The only thing you can do is really write for yourself, write the best that you can and hope that someone likes it. The worst thing is to give up on a piece of work before it’s ready.”
Plum's words of wisdom.

What do you think of Plum?
Have you ever heard of any of her books? I am about to start reading either Oxford Girl or Bergdorf Blondes.. I will be sure to let you all now!
And don't you just love her wedding dress?

Thank you so much for reading!
